What's a Groq API key, and do I need to pay for it separately?
Groq is the AI provider that powers transcription and cleanup. You create your own free account at console.groq.com and generate a key — Groq's free tier comfortably covers typical daily dictation use.
Is usage really unlimited?
Yes — SpeakOwnLocal itself has no usage caps. You're only ever bound by your own Groq account's limits, which are generous on the free tier.
Can I use it on a new computer if I reinstall?
Yes — your license key isn't tied to a specific machine. Just re-enter it in Settings after reinstalling.
Does this train AI models on my voice or text?
No. Your dictation is processed to produce your text and nothing else.
